Appreciate the suggestion. A section of the top part with the locking mechanism broke right off/out so not just a crack but yeah, have some thoughts in mind to try to repair it.

Perhaps if it’s just a crack, you could try using one of those plastic welding kits that embed staples into the plastic for reinforcement. You can find those kits pretty cheap on Amazon for about $20.

After talking with Givi, I learned the back plate cannot be purchased seperately and while they said there is a rumor within the company that bags may potentially be sold seperately in the future, that’s not currently the situation. Quite dissapointed that there’s no remedy to the broken plate other than purchasing two new bags. Otherwise, love the quick release set up and the bags overall as a whole.

How do they do with the heat of the exhaust?

I got these (side bags only) a few weeks ago and took them on a 700km tour last week with mixed off and on road. They are great. Easy to pack, good size, look good, seem very durable, and flexible with the Monokey system.
Some may ask what the point is to have a lock for soft bags because a potential thief can just cut them open anyway. Well it makes it difficult for someone who likes the bags to steal the whole bags and then use them for themselves.
My only gripe is the fasteners on each side of the “beaver tail”. They are really fiddly to undo even without gloves, and the bottom attachment for the “beaver tail” is attached to the inside of the bags so that it falls totally away sort of underneath the bag. I am thinking of how I can possibly improve this.
